Butler is city and county seat of Butler County in the US state of Pennsylvania, situated 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 13,757. The West Valley Detention Center (WVDC) – also known as the San Bernardino County Jail in Rancho Cucamonga – is one of the largest county jails in California. Operational since 1991 with a staff of 600, this jail primarily houses medium to maximum security inmates awaiting their trials. The Detention and Corrections Bureau operates the jail and work release programs for the County of San Bernardino. There are four main adult jail facilities which house inmates during their court process and inmates who have been sentenced by the court.
