Contrary to popular beliefs, we find little evidence that social influence causes users to consume more politically slanted news outlets.
To better understand attention to social media newsfeeds, this study investigates the visual attention paid to the spe-cific, and typical elements of a social media newsfeed post (i.e., source, headline, picture, title, likes, and reactions) and the attentional differences between devices and usage envi-ronments.
